what is the part number of the old part and the new part?
Looks different, is that for same engine?
check with your VIN here for the correct part number

all this engine make the same noise there is a lot of video on you tube .

replacement is correct, I just checked on my BMW parts catalog.
But I have no experience with that engine.
I hope someone with same engine can give some help to you with regards to noise.Kommentar

hi,
i think its not a good idea to use your car anymore .....there are really a lot of videos with damaged chain tensioner ...even in german.....its alway the same noise.....i think you should repair it before your engine is damaged completely.....

40 000 km whit this noise , nothing change.
